Permit
No. M-83-033, Annual Report
FEDERAL TAX IDi#
Our files indicate that the anniversary date for this permit is
June 23. This pit ansoror been granted a Temporary Cessation and it aAs
operated more than 180 days this year. The Financial Warranty for
this operation was reviewed in 2002 and is $741,500, the permitted
area is 292.07 ac: t and the pit is divided into 6 Reclamation Phases.
A sign that conforms with rule 3.1.12 Sioxa atm M~Re is at the entrance
to the quarry on the scale house. Please refer to the Annual Report
Map for the location of areas discussed in this report. This is a
quarry operation, as a result we remove large amounts of material
without disturbing large areas of land.
We will deal specifically with each of the Annual Report require-
ments as outlined in Rule 1.15 of the Rules and Regulations, and the
annual notice letter.
(1) Total disturbance to date in Stage I is 49.16 acres ±. We mined
deeper along the face this year lowering benches. As the face
moved east more floor area was created. The current face area
has changed this year as more area was stripped and partially
mined and covers approximately 20.36 acres ± (brown). Mining
continued on the area previously stripped in Phase I, this in-
cludes the floor area (green), and the working face (brown). We
have continued to place fill in the secondary access corridor as
approved in the plan. Anew access road was built along the
north rim of the mine this spring in preparation for relocating
the powerline and mining into the new area.
(2) No reclamation was required this year. Minor amounts of backfill
continue to be placed in the valley on the eastern side of Phase
Z as approved (yellow). This area still c acres. As
approved in the mining plan only the mine benches will need
recoiling. Stage X was cleaned and graded as required in the
permit and Stage Z is permitted in the county for commercial
