Daniels Sand Pit
2005 Annual Report
Continental Materials
(Transit Mix Concrete)
M-1973-007-SG
Overview of Permit Year: Throughout the 2005 year, activity at the site remained
steady due to the active construction materials market. Mining has proceeded
eastward through the pre-amendment 4E area. Transit Mix received approval from
the Division on an amendment which added the "little Johnson" area, which is
directly east of phase 4E. Due to some county and city road planning issues Transit
Mix has had to wait to amend the current Special Use Permit. This wait will cause
Transit Mix to begin mining in the phase 5E area. The west side has not changed.
Annual Report Maps: Enclosed are two maps, one is for the East side and one is
fox the West side. The maps have been updated for the 2004 year.
Affected Lands: Please refer to the enclosed maps for affected land acreage.
Revegetation: The site is stable and not subject to erosion.
Expected Activity (2005): Transit Mix expects to be mining in phase 5E by the first
quarter of 2006. The direction of mining in this phase should be north and west. The
amount of activity at the site should continue to be steady, given the current
construction market. Transit Mix has scheduled to begin reclamation in the southern
part of phase 3E in 2006 and 2007.
Bonding: This operation is covered by aself-bonding arrangement.
