Dear Barbara:
Enclosed is the Annual Report for the past year for The Hidden Valley Pit of B&B
Excavating, Inc., including map and report form. Past records show that the annual
date for the pit is August 3 of each year. The financial warranty for the permit is
$83,155 and the total permit area is 183.6 acres, although Eagle County has limited the
10 year operation area to 29.2 acres as shown on the enclosed map. The mining and
reclamation plan is not phased.
The following information is provided to comply with Rule 2.4.1:
(1) Mining did take place in the previous year as was planned within 4 acres of the
29.2 acre area. The excavated pit and some stockpiles do exist on site. In addition, the
existing disturbance consists of the access road, sediment sump, a truck scale and scale
house/office trailer has been set up as shown on the enclosed annual report map.
Topsoil is being stockpiled along the perimeter as outlined in the permit. Additional
topsoil stripping and mining will likely occur in the summer of 2003. The sediment
pond has also been installed and all topsoil from the excavation has been stockpiles
