2000
Annual Report
Mott Gravel Pit
M-1980-049
Operations at the Mott Gravel Pit during the year 2000 was limited to removal of
stockpiled crushed gravel. This activity began after July 1 and was completed before
September 1.
The overburden top-soil was not removed from any additional gravel deposits.
The top-soil stockpile is located on the eastern one-third of the permit area as depicted on
the enclosed map. There was no disturbance of the pile during the year.
No reclamation action was undertaken during the year because at least ten vertical
feet of quality gravel deposit remains throughout the mined area.
The plan for 2001 is to resume mining and crushing of gravel on site. Initial
emphasis will be to remove more material from the floor of the existing mined area.
Should it be necessary to remove any more topsoil to expose additional gravel deposits,
the topsoil will be stored as a berm along the northern boundary of the permit area to
buffer visual impact from Clear Fork Road and a residence along it.
Late in the year 2000, the majority interest in the real estate underlying the Mott
Gravel Pit was acquired by Donald R. Hart and with it goes operation of the pit.
Documents are being submitted with this Annual Report effecting the official transfer of
the operation.
