Draft West Elk Mine 2005 Annual <br />15 <br />• Spring 13-3 is located down valley from spring 13-4 on the first tributary entering Raven Gulch <br />from the west which is tributary to the North Fork and east of the West Flatiron mining panels. <br />This spring issues from a sandstone bed above the F Coal Seam, flows seasonally, and is typically <br />dry in the late summer and fall months (Map 2). <br />3.2.1.4 Spring_13-2 <br />Spring 13-2 is located down valley from spring 13-3 on the first tributary entering Raven Gulch <br />from the west which is tributary to the North Fork and east of the West Flatiron mining panels. <br />This spring issues from a sandstone bed above the F Coal Seam, flows seasonally, and is typically <br />dry in the late summer and fall months (Map 2). <br />3.2.1.5 Spring 13-1 <br />Spring 13-1 is located down valley from spring 13-2 on the first tributary entering Raven Gulch <br />from the west which is tributary to the North Fork and east of the West Flatiron mining panels. <br />This spring issues from a sandstone bed above the F Coal Seam, flows seasonally, and is typically <br />dry in the late summer and fall months (Map 2). <br />• 3.2.1.6 SDrinq 26-1 <br />Spring 26-I is located in a drainage on the west side of the Deep Creek drainage between the <br />Upper and Lower Deep Creek monitoring stations. Deep Creek is tributary to Raven Gulch and the <br />North Fork. This spring is above the east side of mine Panel 15 (Box Canyon mine panel area) and <br />issues from a sandstone bed above the F Coal Seam. This spring has perennial flow, but shows <br />strong seasonal variations with high flows in the spring months (Map 2). <br />3.2.1.7 Seep E14-1 <br />Seep E14-1 is located in upper Box Canyon which is tributary to the North Fork. It is located <br />above the Box Canyon Panel area. This seep issues from a sandstone bed above the E Coal Seam <br />and has never flowed. It is damp only during very wet spring months, but is typically dry. <br />3.2.1.8 Spring 27-1 <br />Spring 27-1 is located in upper Sylvester Gulch (tributary to North Fork) and feeds an area known <br />as "twin ponds". This spring issues from alluvial sediments and is above the south side of mine <br />Panel 15 (Box Canyon mine panel area).
