No fertilizers or soil conditioners were used. The
seeding was done in late fall to facilitate germination in the early
spring with the best moisture conditions. No estimate of success is
possible at this time.
During 1986, approximately 40,000 tons of crushed and sized gypsum
rock was produced and shipped from the mine.
On October 24, 1986, an amended permit appplication was filed with the
Division for the amendment of permit M-84-041. This amendment will
move most of the operations to a location which is approximately
3000 feet North of the present operation area. It is anticipated
that the amended permit will be granted by the Board in late
January 1987, and operations will be moved to the new site during
February through June of 1987. Some of the onsite ways will also
serve the new location. It is anticipated that following the move,
2.7 acres of moderate disturbance and 3.8 acres of major disturbance
can be graded and seeded during 1987. Consideration is being given
to the use of stabilized sewage treatment plant sludge as a soil
conditioner for areas accessable to the Upper Eagle Valley Sanitation
District sludge spreading truck.
Anticipated affected area for the new location is discussed on pages
2 and 3 of Exhibit D of the application for amendment of permit M-84-041.
