The survey was performed March 23, 1993.
Survey results for S-1, S-2, and S-3 show no significant movement
since the monitoring began in 1985. Survey results for S-5, S-6,
S-7, and S-8 does show some movement, while not significant, prior
to the bench failure in 1993. It appears before each bench failure
(March 1988, March 1989, and March 1993) the elevation drops
slightly and the next survey following the failure shows the
elevation has risen. However, it does not seem that the slight
movements in the stability monuments would be indicative of the
surficial slumps. It appears that the overall stability of the
bench continues to be preserved. The graph of these monuments (S-S
through S-8) is provided for your information.
The Division at this time has no questions concerning the data
obtained on March 23, 1993.
Sincerely,
Christine E.
