• established ranges for these sites. As indicated on Figure bl, TDS concentrations at well 008-AV-2 continued to
be stable during 1999. TCC will continue to monitor the direction of this trend.
A[ well 009-5-10 (Table 24) new maximum values were recorded for total alkalinity, bicarbonate, and ammia-
free nitrogen. At well 001-5-~ (Table 25) a new minimum value +vas recorded for lab pH, and new maximum
values were recorded for lab conductivity and dissolved molybdenum. At well 008-AV ? (Table 26) a new
ntinimunt value was recorded for lab pH, and new tna~itttunt values were recorded for ammium-total nitrogen
and ammia-free nitrogen. Well FO-I (Table 28) and FO-4 (Table 29) established many new maximum and
minimum values for tested parameters due to the limited period for which values have been collected at these
sites. FO-I and FO-4 eeltibit field conductivities notably higher than alluvial wells upstream and downstream of
[Itese sites. Well FO-I is characterized wi[It calcium and sulfate as the dominant cation and anion respectively.
Well FO-4 exhibits sodium and sulfate as the dominant ions.
Fislt Creek Alluvial Groundwater: During 1999, five Fislt Creek alluvial wells (006-AY-l, 006-AZ-3, 006-A W-
Z, 008-AU-3 and 008-A W-3) required monitoring for water levels and field parameters on a monthly basis, and
water quality sampling on a quarterly basis. Tables 30 through 34 provide summaries of the 1999 Water Year
data collected at each site. Tables 30a through 34a provide period of record statistical summaries of collected
data at each site. Figures 56 through 6~ provide graphical representations of water levels and selected +vater
quality parameters recorded at each site.
• Water levels a[ well 006-AY-I, located on Fish Creek upstream of the Southwest Mining District and Mine 2,
had exhibited a relatively steady increase from approximately 1990 through 1994 (see Figure 56). From 1994
through 1997, that trend has reversed and has stabilized in 1998 and 1999. The maximum fluctuation in water
level at this site over the period of record is 7.5' to date. Well 006-AZ-3 is situated downstream of 006-AY- I and
below the Fish Creek Borehole. Well 006-AZ-3 is monitored in conjunction with surface water site 307 and the
water level relationship is presented as Figure 58. Further downstream, well 006-AW-2 and surface water site
1002 are monitored and water levels are plotted as Figure 60. Again in 1999, the interrelationship between
alluvial ground+vater and surface water is evident on these two plots. Well 008-AU-3 and surface water site 30~
monitor water levels upstream from [he Fish Creek Tipple area with data presented on Figure 62. The furthest
dovvngradient Fish Creek alluvial monitoring well is 008-A W-3 (Figure 64) located near the Fish Creek Tipple.
No unusual water level fluctuations were noted at any of these sites during 1999.
Elevated ammonia readings in the Fish Creek Alluvium, firs[ detected in August of 1995, were sustained through
1999. Additionally, a[ well 006-AZ-3 (Table 31) new minimum values were recorded for lab pH, SAR, and
ammium-total nitrogen; new maximum values were recorded for lab conductivity, hardness, dissolved solids,
dissolved calcium, dissolved magnesium, dissolved sodium, sulfate, ammia-free nitrogen, nitrate and nitrite. At
well 006-AW ? (Table 32) new minimum values +vere recorded for alkalinity, and manganese; and a new
maximum value was recorded for ammia-free nitrogen. At well 008-AU-3 (Table 33); and a new maximum value
was recorded for ammia-free nitrogen. At well 008-AW-3 (Table 34) new minimum values were recorded for
. lab pH, and ammium-total nitrogen; and a new ntaxiinunt value +vas recorded for dissolved solids. Outer
-6
