September 28, 2007
File No. 00036-002
Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety
extended west and south to facilitate mining through the southern boundary that
abuts Ready Mixed Pit No. 1 (M-1985-017). Note that mining the south
boundary was also addressed in TR-003.
Mining activifies at the site occurred within the general phase areas noted above.
Disturbance by new mining consisted of the approximately 22.8 acres where
mining was expanded compared to the prior reporting year. Mining continued
southward into the northern half of Ready Mixed Pit No. 1 with processing of that
material at Bromley Lakes Pit as described in TR-003. Gross production for the
year at the plant from both pits was approximately 1,500,000 tons. Proposed new
mining disturbance for the coming yeaz will occur in Phase 10 within Cell No. 3.
The proposed new disturbance for next year within this permit will be
approximately 11.1 acres depending upon market demand and geologic conditions
encountered. Mining of the adjacent Ready Mixed Pit No. 1 with processing at
Bromley Lakes Pit will also continue during the upcoming reporting year.
It is emphasized that the operator submitted, and DBMS approved, a Technical
Revision (TR-003) during the reporting year. This revision included provisions to
mine and replace the boundary between Bromley Lakes Pit to the north and
Ready Mixed Pit No. 1 to the south, as well as made a modification to the site
phasing whereby former Phase 11 was eliminated and incorporated into Phases 7
and 10 coincident with the limits of future water storage Cells No. 2 and No. 3.
If you have any questions about the enclosed information, please contact Bill
Timmons or me and we will be happy to assist the Division with any additional
desired information.
Sincerely,
BRIERLEY ASSOCIATES, LLC
Alan L.
