DMG Permit No. M-88-112 Augur[ Monthly Sampling Dear Mr. Dillie: All required sampling was completed during the month of August. The NANO/RO water plan[ operated intermittently during the month. A total of 11,491,000 gallons of water (35.27-acre feet) was treated and discharged into Rito Seco during lbe month of August. All surface water stations were inspected weekly and RS-4 and RS-6 was found to be dry. Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. The piezometers on the main embankment of the tailing impoundment were checked on August 30'", the piezometers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water. The west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on August 31", with the following results: BF-I was 28.96 ft., BF-2 was 32.52 ft., BF-4 was 26.13 ft. and BF-6 was 31.95 ft. The other piezometers in the Wes[ Mine area were also checked with the following result: PW-I was 29.19 ft., PW-2 was 29.42 f[., PW-3 was 36.39 ft. and PW-4 was 30.37 ft. The underdrain was measured al approximately 33 gpm. The collection pond leak detection system was pumped August 30'h; the leak was approximately 26 gpad. The seeps remain dry. With DMG approval a total of 1,759,100 gallons (5.40-acre feet) of brine water was pumped from the evaporation system collection ponds to the tailings impoundment. Sincere David E.
