DMG Permit No. M-88-112 <br />Augur[ Monthly Sampling <br />Dear Mr. Dillie: <br />All required sampling was completed during the month of August. <br />The NANO/RO water plan[ operated intermittently during the month. A total of 11,491,000 gallons of water <br />(35.27-acre feet) was treated and discharged into Rito Seco during lbe month of August. <br />All surface water stations were inspected weekly and RS-4 and RS-6 was found to be dry. <br />Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. <br />The piezometers on the main embankment of the tailing impoundment were checked on August 30'", the <br />piezometers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water. <br />The west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on August 31", with the following results: <br />BF-I was 28.96 ft., BF-2 was 32.52 ft., BF-4 was 26.13 ft. and BF-6 was 31.95 ft. The other piezometers in the <br />Wes[ Mine area were also checked with the following result: PW-I was 29.19 ft., PW-2 was 29.42 f[., PW-3 was <br />36.39 ft. and PW-4 was 30.37 ft. <br />The underdrain was measured al approximately 33 gpm. <br />The collection pond leak detection system was pumped August 30'h; the leak was approximately 26 gpad. <br />The seeps remain dry. <br />With DMG approval a total of 1,759,100 gallons (5.40-acre feet) of brine water was pumped from the <br />evaporation system collection ponds to the tailings impoundment. <br />Sincere <br />David E.
