January 7, 1992
To: G.C. Dodson
From: J.C. Lenz
Subject: December Monthly Operating Report
Mill Operations
1.1 Crushing
Approximately 100,358 wet tons of ore were crushed
in December. operating availability of the primary
crusher declined to 71.6$. The grizzly was removed and
taken to the shop to be rebuilt. Numerous times large
rocks and/or frozen fines plugged the crushing system.
Blasting to remove hang ups contributed to the premature
failure of some wear plates in the dump bin.
Approximately 250 feet of CV-O1 were sliced by a wear
plate that was dislodged from the ROM bin. Rectifiers in
the variable frequency drive on the vibrating feeder
failed on the 24th and again on the 27th. The cause for
the failures may be a short to ground in the wiring.
1.2 Grinding
118,927 dry tons of ore were ground during December.
Operating availability of the plant decreased to 84.6$
this month. Average plant throughput for the month
decreased to 188 tons per hour. Total power consumption
increased to 36.2 kwh/ton. The mass flow tonnage was
adjusted to account for the time the thickener was in
recirculation mode. The negative adjustment Was 9,425
tons.
Unscheduled mill downtime was excessive during the month.
A detailed description of the events is contained in a
