DMG Permit No. M-88-112
Quarterly, Monthly and Bi-weekly Sampling
Dear Mr. Dillie:
All required sampling was.completed during the month of August. Enclosed are analytical reports
from Accu-Labs and Sangre De Cristo Lab (SDC) for the recent bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly
sampling periods as specified in the April 1992 Abatement Plan. The cross-reference table between
sample identification numbers, sample types and sample locations is also attached. Analysis that
have not been received will be forwarded to you as I receive them. Field and rinse blanks were
collected os part of the QA/QC.
All surface water stations were inspected and RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry.
Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified.
When we checked the piezometers on the main embankment of the tailings impoundment on
09/01 /98, the piezometers were dry or contained well below 12 inches of water.
The two new west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on 09/01 /98, with the
following result: BF-Iwas 12.50 ft and BF-2 was 16.30 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area
were also checked with the following result: PW-1 was 14.55 ft, PW-2 was 15.60 ft, PW-3 was 23.65 ft
and PW-4 was 26.05 ft.
The underdrain was at approximately 23 gpm.
For the month of August the leak defection flow was approximately 40 GPAD. We continue to keep
the collection pond at a low level to minimize leakage.
