IDARADO MINING COMPANY <br />2002 <br />ANNUAL REPORT <br />Permit No: M-77-403-HR <br />Anniversary Date: July 1, 2002 <br />Idarado Mining Company is completing remediation and reclamation activities as per <br />Consent Decree (D. Coloradan Civil Action No. 83-C-2385) between the Colorado <br />Department of Public Health and Environment, the Office of the Colorado Attorney <br />General and Idarado Mining Company. <br />Idarado Mining Company all field reclamation and remediation activities prescribed and <br />contained within the Remedial Action Plan (RAP) as amended to the Consent Decree has <br />been completed and the monitoring of these reclamation and remedial elements of the <br />plan continues. These monitoring activities will continue, at least, until calendar year <br />2011. <br />Sites activities conducted during the 2001-2002 permit period included: <br />Reclamation (e.g., soil erosion, slope stability, revegetation, diversion structure, etc <br />and water quality monitoring combined with reclamation maintenance activities <br />continued on reclaimed lands in 2001 as previously reported in Annual Reports. <br />Monitoring and maintenance activities under the RAP allows the maintaining and <br />where necessary repairing of specific reclamation areas or remediation structures, <br />such maintenance and repair was completed as necessary and in a timely fashion. <br />Mining and milling operations associated with the Idarado Red Mountain and <br />Telluride sites are not and were not in active operation during calendar year 2001. No <br />mining, beneficiation, or waste rock disposal operations were conducted during the <br />permit year. <br />n Historic tailing material located downgradient of the Telluride tailing facility 4 were <br />removed during the fall of 2001. This material was excavated from an approximate <br />4-acre area and transported to a stockpile location at the Pandora Mill waste rock <br />facility. The remediation area was seeded, fertilized and the perimeter area silt <br />fenced to stabilize exposed soil materials and prevent sediment transfer from the site. <br />The stockpiled tailing material will be relocated to a final storage area at a later date. <br />n Idarado Mining Company completed a land transfer transaction with the Trust for <br />Public Lands (TPL) in early 2002. This transaction transferred approximately 3,000 <br />acres of private Idarado Mining Company property to the TPL. The TPL will transfer <br />these private lands to the National Forest Service. A property map depicting Idarado <br />Mining Company's current land position is enclosed. <br />
