Op
1989 Annual Report
Sterling Companies
M-85-026
Challenger Mine
Area A: An area outside the permit boundary that was a dump
for the local farmsted. The area was cleaned up at the
request of the landowner, and the area was graded, res iled,
and reseeded in Spring 1988 .
Area B: A portion of the completed excavation that was
graded, resoiled, and reseeded with Area A in Spring 1988.
Area C: Preparation of an area prior to excavation
commencing with soil salvage. The soil stockpile is visible
to the southwest of the affected area . Due to the distortion
of the areal, it is unlikely that the stockpile is really
outside the permit boundary, however, follow up and
correction if required will occur by the operator in 1 )89 .
The direction of excavation is shown by the arrow.
All other disturbances are self evident in the aerial
photograph. Approximate scale is 1" = 100' .
