RECEIVED
Florence Pit M-2001-070
Mining Activity August 7, 2002-August i 1, 2003
AUG 12 2003
Division •f Minerals and Geology
I closed the mine for the last season on September 19, 2002 at which time I backfilled the
excavations made during that season.
Upon returning to the mine in May of 2003, I found water seeping into the pit from the
Bad Boys mine directly North and above my diggings.
Due to this water problem, it wasn't until June 26, 2003 that I was able to do any mine
excavating. I reopened one area in which I expect tb find turquoise. It is mazked with an
X on the map. This was on the floor of the existing pit. No topsoil or vegetation was
disturbed. The dirt removed was piled to'the West marked with xac. 'This activity took
place within the permit area. - - - - -
I estimate my total time in actual mining so far this season to be six days for approximately
five hours per day.
When the season is over (late September), fill dirt will be replaced in the new excavation.
Next year the same procedure will be-repeated in the area turquoise deposits are found.
The mining activity usually begins late May or June depending on the weather and my
availability to conduct the mining.
~~
8 -(/-03
