SLOPE STABILITY
INTERIM INSPECTION REPORT
AREA Wadge Highwall drainage fill DATE 03/29/94
TIME 9:OOa.m. by Dennis Jones WEATHER Partly cloudy, 30°F
1. Debris, organic matter coal, etc., present in fill none visible
2. General gradation and characteristics of material No apparent change from
the last inspection.
3. Presence of water, surface and ground Small amount of ice in auger pit area, will
pump out after thaw, if necessarv
4. Condition of underdrain (approx. current width, depth, and length), material
gradation and characteristic, compaction, presence of water N/A
5. General material movement Minor settlement cracks within backfilled and graded
area above old highwall. No recent movement observed. Continue monitoring.
6. Proximity and treatment of seep points Spoil spring 1000 ft downgradient flowing
at a rate of approx. 50 gpm (visual estimate)
7. Condition of slope fill surface (grading, cracks or sloughing, erosion,
revegetation) General condition of graded surface is good. Good vegetation cover
around check dams. No maior visible evidence of severe erosion or cracking
except as noted.
8. Recommendation Continued observation as the fill is placed and the west wadge Pit
area is graded and reclaimed. Differential settlement and erosion should be moni-
tored and repaired as necessarv.
9. Accountability
I certify the preceding observations and comments to be true and accurate to the
best of my knowledge.
MAR 31 1994
Date
