Golden continued to
make progress during 2006 in its efforts to reclaim the site.
There were no new disturbances in 2006 and none are planned for 2007. There have
been no changes to the map of the site.
The only disturbance remaining at the site is the material stockpile and associated
processing area located on the east portion of the permit area. Efforts to process and
remove the materials stockpile continued in 2006. In May, the stockpile was surveyed to
monitor the pace of material processing. According to the survey, 330,000 cubic yards of
stockpiled material remain. Golden estimates that, to date, Everist Materials has
processed and sold approximately 240,000 cy of the stockpile. The City of Golden hopes
that processing will continue to accelerate in 2007. Final reclamation activities cannot
proceed until the stockpile has been sufficiently removed from the site. .
During 2005, the stockpile was retreated with Soiltac and a seed mixture to minimize
fugitive dust. In 2006, areas that were revegitated in 2005 were re-seeded as necessary
and the stockpile was retreated to minimize fugitive dust from the operation.
The site was active the entire year.
Please contact me at 303-384-8153 should you need additional information or
rlanfiratinn ... ..._ ,
Sincerely,
Anne Beierle
Public Works Deputy Director
City of Golden
