1 D. Dewatering System Outlet Structures: <br />The Dewatering System Outlet structures must be carefully removed to prevent <br />damage to horizontal drainage pipes which daylight at these points. The horizontal <br />drains should be extended to prevent blockage to the outlet since these pipes must <br />continue to operate after all reclamation activities have been completed. Erosion <br />control can be provided by installing gravel or riprap at the end of these pipes and <br />down the slope for at least fifteen to twenty feet. <br />I All concrete which is broken and removed from each outlet structure should be <br />taken to the designated disposal areas. <br />t E. Spillway Channels: <br />1 The Spillway Channels which are shown on the Site Plan have been designed to <br />carry emergency storm flows that may happen to exceed the capacity of the runoff <br />ponds. These channels are lined with filter fabric, riprep and/or gabions. The <br />riprap and gabions should be removed and used for fill in those areas of the road or <br />spillway channel which pass through rock. The rock can also be used for local <br />1 erosion protection as necessary for any other needed areas of the reclaimed site. <br />1 The Pilter fabric should be removed and disposed in the designated on-site disposal <br />areas. Normally, the channel should be backfilled with on site earthen materials. <br />When the channel passes through a rock cut, however, the channel should be filled <br />with rock; the rock should be placed to form a dense, erosion resistant mass. <br />Smaller rock, or mortar, may be used to fill any voids. <br />F. Water Tank and Foundations: <br />The water storage tank should be removed and salvaged. The Youndations should be <br />' demolished, removed and transported to the designated on--site disposal area. <br />The retaining wall may be removed or left in place and buried at the Owners <br />' option. The area should then be backfilled in uniform layers to return the area to <br />its approximate original contours. The backfill should be placed in uniform 8" lifts <br />compacted to approximately 85% of the maximum Standard Proctor Density. The <br />area should then be covered with a uniform layer of topsoil, 12" to 18" in thickness, <br />in accordance with the M6cR plan. Seeding and mulching should also conform to the <br />M&R plan. <br />' G. Wastewater Plant, Water Treatment Plant and other Miscellaneous Facilities: <br />After the superstructures oY these facilities have been removed and salvaged, the <br />' foundations and other unsalvageable parts should be removed and transported to the <br />designated on-site disposal areas. The sites for the wastewater plant and the water <br />treatment plant were relatively flat to begin with and only limited earthwork is <br />' anticipated in order to return these areas to their approximate original contours. <br />These sites should be given a layer of topsoil and seeded as required in the MdcR <br />plan. <br />1 <br />1 <br />13 <br />
