COLORADO 81302 <br />November 19, 1988 <br />TO: National King Coal <br />SUBJECT: Quarterly Subsidence Monitoring, Fourth Quarter, 1988 <br />1) The fourth quarterly visual inspection for subsidence, King <br />Coal Mine, La Plata County, Colorado was made on November 2, <br />1988. <br />2) No new evidence of subsidence is apparent. <br />An inspection was made of the surface area at the King Coal <br />Mine above both old and current workings on November 2, 1988. <br />Particular attention caas given to the most recent areas of retreat. <br />The surface was inspected for evidence of slump, subsidence, <br />shearing, cracY.s in bedrock, vegetation damage and water infil- <br />tration. No evidence of new subsidence is apparent. <br />The purpose of this inspection was to meet requirements <br />established by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division for <br />quarterly monitoring of the surface for subsidence. <br />~~ <br />~F"red M.
