Maintenance of
all the Cross Mine, Caribou Mine and Comstock Mine facilities was carried out on a
daily basis. The Cross-Mine water discharge system was checked and maintenance
on a seven day per week, year round basis. Lime was added to the water system on
a daily basis. Wabh Environmental Scientists and Engineers
of Boulder, Colorado filed the monthly DMR reports. The Cross-Mine tunnel level
was fully maintained and kept open.
Full security and maintenance of the mines cap and dynamite magazine was kept
current.
No exploration or development work took place. However, we moved our Long
year 44-core drill and related equipment from Caribou Park down to tike Caribou
Miae yard to July. The drib and equipment had been sitting over diamond rnre hole
98-124 since December 1998. The core site 98-124 was 95% reclaimed. The site was
completely cleaned, leveled, covered with match and topsoil and thea asked. The
company has fully reclaimed sit of its 1997 and 1498 core sites, ezcept for minor
work on sites 98-121-23.
Reclamation work commenced to the Cariboo Peat bog damaged Iby the KBPI
mud feat event, which took place on September 23, 2000.80 yards of mulch and
topsoil were spread in trenches. All trash and debris was removed. Hand raking
took place in the wet part of the bog. Special seed mixture was spread over
approzimately two acres. Grant Gurnee of Wabh Environmental and myself
directed this program with 25 volunteers. Work wilt conttoue over the next three
years under a plan designed to completely restore the damaged areas. Negotiations
with Jaycor/Clear Channel are progressing well toward a workable settlement for
the damages.
I have been completing a SEP program for the State Heattb Department at the
Cross Mioe historic dump ones. This work program commenced in July of this year.
A twelve foot wide flat corridor was excavated abng the north batx of the Cross
Mine dump. The waste rock was moved to the upper dump.
