Note [hat acreages have been
revised from those previously reported to reconcile reported acreages with results obtained from digitized
map values. Final Reclamation activities included:
1. The "grasshopper" refuse conveyor system was salvaged and shipped off the mine site (to a gravel
quarry in Florida).
2. The clean coal truck dump was salvaged with the conveyor system and feeder breaker shipped off-
site.
3. Various accumulations of scrap metal from the train loadout removed in 1994, the clean coal truck
dump, West Portal Hoist drum and the salvage pile adjacent to the East Portal Substation were
salvaged and shipped off site.
4. The remaining active portion of the Refuse Disposal Area, approximately 20 acres, was resloped
and rough graded to what is anticipated to be the post-mining drainage if the decision is made to
abandon the plant and enter final reclamation.
5. The coal remaining in the silos, approximately 10,000 tons was sold, with trucking to be initiated
in January 2005.
6. The bed coal remaining at the "North River Stockpile" area was recovered and stockpiled for
potential sale or disposal. The graded area, classified as "DR-Disturbed with pre-law Refuse",
approximates final grade and is near ready for reclamation.
No additional areas were seeded during 2004.
Weed Control included limited hand spraying to control Canadian Thistle.
Please call me if you have any questions or require additional information.
Si~erely/ 'A
~R~`/o%n~'a_I~d G.~yT/h/o~mpso~
