We intend to continue mining operations <br />into 2002. The enclosed revised Appendix C map illustrates the surveyed acreage that has been <br />reclaimed (28.63 acres, including 0.97 acres newly reclaimed in 2001) and the unreclaimed <br />acreage that has been mined (7.85 acres) or is simply associated disturbance (10.85 acres). <br />New disturbance in 2001 (3.12 acres) involved topsoil stripping for pit advancement in Mining <br />Areas 5 and 6. <br />Topsoil salvaged ahead of pit advancement was either placed directly onto the azea prepazed for <br />permanent reclamation at a depth of approximately 18 inches or placed into a temporary <br />stockpile at the east edge of topsoil strip advance. The topsoil in the temporary stockpile will <br />be used for permanent reclamation in 2002. <br />The projection for the 2001-02 report period (October 26, 2001 through October 25, 2002) is <br />for approximately 1.55 acres of new disturbance in Mine Areas 5 and 6.
