' Mine inflow equals approximately 2.39 acre feet per month (18 gpm
X 60 X 24 X 30 + 325,851). From June through December the mine
' consumed 16.73 acre-feet of mine inflow water. Therefore total
consumption of water by the mining operation is 28.99 acre-feet
(16.73 + 11.26). This consumptive use figure is high compared to
' prior years use. Bear does not have any explanation for the higher
than usual consumptive use of water in the mine.
' Assessment of Hvdroloc;ic impacts
' Mininq in 1996 is projected to occur in the southeast quarter
of section 17 and the southwest quarter of section 16. There are
no water resources in the area to be mined in 1996 therefore there
' are no projected hydrologic impacts. Bear will continue to handle
the water seeping from the 3rd West Section either through
' consumptive use, mine discharge or both. Bear requests the
Divisions help to determine if an abandoned area in the adjacent
West Elk Mine might be contributing to or causing this mine inflow.

1
1
1
1

1
' /~
