pit ~iiii~i«iiiii«
March 10, 1992
To: Shawn Smith
From: Janet Binns
Re:Revegetation Review of Findings Document for Keenesburg Mine
(C-81-028)
Dear Shawn:
Coors Energy Company (CEC) has addressed the revegetation issues as
outlined in section IV. in the findings document (4.15.7(2)(d)).
In regards to paragraph 3 there is no minimum requirement for woody
stems per acre for this permit.
The success criteria referenced in paragraph 4 are species
diversity, herbaceous cover and production in comparison between
reclaimed and the undisturbed reference areas.
Species diversity success determination requires that CEC establish
a minimum of 7 perennial species of which four are warm season
grasses, 2 are cool season grasses, and one is a forb to be
measured by relative cover. ^No one component should comprise
greater than 40$ relative importance nor less than 3~ relative
importance.
Herbaceous cover shall be acceptable if greater than or equal to
90~ of cover as determined from the reference area with a 90$
statistical confidence for 2 consecutive years.
The page revised as of 12/91 is numbered 114. This page seems to
correspond with pages 116b-d from 1988 revision.
I hope this addresses what you needed. If not come talk to me.
Sincerely,
1 ~ ,~.~/Y1 Nl
Ja et 1~. Binns
