pit ~iiii~i«iiiii« <br />March 10, 1992 <br />To: Shawn Smith <br />From: Janet Binns <br />Re:Revegetation Review of Findings Document for Keenesburg Mine <br />(C-81-028) <br />Dear Shawn: <br />Coors Energy Company (CEC) has addressed the revegetation issues as <br />outlined in section IV. in the findings document (4.15.7(2)(d)). <br />In regards to paragraph 3 there is no minimum requirement for woody <br />stems per acre for this permit. <br />The success criteria referenced in paragraph 4 are species <br />diversity, herbaceous cover and production in comparison between <br />reclaimed and the undisturbed reference areas. <br />Species diversity success determination requires that CEC establish <br />a minimum of 7 perennial species of which four are warm season <br />grasses, 2 are cool season grasses, and one is a forb to be <br />measured by relative cover. ^No one component should comprise <br />greater than 40$ relative importance nor less than 3~ relative <br />importance. <br />Herbaceous cover shall be acceptable if greater than or equal to <br />90~ of cover as determined from the reference area with a 90$ <br />statistical confidence for 2 consecutive years. <br />The page revised as of 12/91 is numbered 114.
