Lang
Division Dveclor
Re: Departing No es on AHR for 1992
Edna (C-80-001)
Dear Susan:
As per my promise, I want to leave you with a few notes on the Edna
AHR as briefly reviewed by myself last month.
First, let's review the problems with the AHR.
Number one, there is the deficiency that P & M do not seem to
report their exceedences of the Colorado Dept. of Health material
damage suspect criteria, when they occur and where they occur.
This must be mentioned in the review letter that Dag Booth will
probably write.
Second, there are no data recorded or graphed on pg 17, first and
second graphs (EC and TDS) for the period of Dec 1991 to present.
I spoke to Dave Beverlin on this and he supplied me with the EC
figures in pen on bottom of page. Check for TDS lab reports!
Third, there seems to be an increasing trend in spoils well WR-1
manganese content. This trend is way over exceedence levels and
needs to be carefully monitored in the future, if not some sort of
filtering process advised. From 1991 to 1992 manganese levels
jumped nearly 100$.- this was confirmed by Dave Beverlin who says
this is the result of "flushing". Well, somebody better put in the
toilet bowl flusher blue bar or something. ha, ha. This is
serious, pardon my relaspse, it's the mental state. See graph on
page 21.
And now for the rest of the story, aka: The Good News of the report!
1. The Moffatt well elevations have stabilized.
2. The spring and seep survey map is accurate. Look for in
1993's report, 27 seeps and 13 springs to be recorded. Steve
Ananola and I walked the Center Ridge, and West Ridge area for
springs and seeps. Also the Moffatt area and old East ridge.
The majority of springs and seeps appear to be dewatering the
Center Ridge slide, which is good for structural stability. All
