(Casper, Wyoming) hae collated our field and laboratory
data; and has reported it in the same format as last year.
We are addressing the changes requested by your Letter (5/8/86) and by Ms.
Thompson on 4/18/86. We are including:
1) Copies of our 1987 pit advancement disturbance which amend those submitted
last year.
2) Copies of the NOAA monthly summaries fur the 1986 climatological data.
3) The 1986 pit dewatering data for Trapper Mine.
We are submitting graphs of TDS over time instead of EC values. George
Hoffman, Hydro-Engineering, feels this is the best salinity indicator we have
for trend analysis, to date. Historical EC data seemingly did not relate.
There was too much scatter. To interpret a trend may have been very
misleading.
George feels that the salinity trend is better understood iE plotted by TDS
this year.
By next year, we shall have three (3) years of data to correlate TDS and EC
values. We have been striving to develop consistency of technique fur EC
sampling so that data anumolies can be reduced and so that EC can be used to
interpret trends.
If there are any questions, please call. me.
Best regards,
~~[it-Li
H.
