Lenz
Subject: January Monthly Operating Report
Mill operations
1.1 Crushing
Approximately 115,189 wet tons of ore were crushed
in January. Operating availability of the primary
crusher declined to 67.8$. Midwest Fabrication expended
270 manhours in January rebuilding the grizzly at a cost
of $9,450. The grizzly was placed back into service on
January 25th and has been performing well. Crusher
availability was negatively impacted prior to the
reinstallation of the grizzly by numerous blockages in
the ROM bin and the crusher, Crusher availability has
improved after January 25th. The ROM bin is scheduled
to be relined in February. Installation of chains in the
crusher drop chute to slow the velocity of the rock,
along with scrappers to keep the "S" drive clean, have
improved the performance of CV-O1. A crowned tail pulley
was installed on CV-O1 during the month.
1.2 Grinding
122,126 dry tons of ore were ground during January.
Operating availability of the plant decreased to 80.5$
this month. Average plant throughput for the month
increased to 204 tons per hour, 24 tons per hour under
budget. Total power consumption decreased to 34.2
kwh/ton.
Unscheduled mill downtime was excessive during the month.
