Look for links underlined in blue. <br />1998 Disturbance Area <br />The 1998 Annual Reclama[Son Report, drawing 2W98-2A, shows the limits of dist.u rbance as of <br />December 31, 1998. The disturbance Line as shown on [his drawing depicts all disturbance <br />associated with the mining operation including haul roatl and pond construction, topsoil <br />removal and storage, open pl[sr spoil piles, etc. The area disturbed in 1998 totals 4.1 <br />acres. <br />• Backfilliny and Grading , <br />Ba ckftlliny and grading operations occurred in [he "A" "B" and "C" pit areas. A total of <br />lOB.l acres were final graded in 1998. These areas are shown on drawing 2W98-1. <br />Light-use Roads <br />No new light-use roads were added during the 1998 Eield season. <br />Soil and Spoil Monitoring <br />SCC is required by Permit C-82-057 to monitor the salvage, storaq e, and redistribution of <br />soil and spoil handling operations at Seneca II-W Mine. Specific programs include <br />documenting soil recovery, verifying soil redistribution thi ckr~ess, determining final <br />graded spoil suitability in the Lennox Coal outcrop sampl inq area, determining soil <br />fertility, evaluating plant rooting characteristics, re<o rtlinq the source of replaced soil, <br />and comp leting an annual soil balance. The following sections present the soil and spoil <br />monitoring data for [he 1998 calendar year. <br />Soil Recovery Documentation <br />• Soil recovery was documented by daily observation by [he grading foreman and pi[ <br />supervisor.
