Thr~
final analytical reports from Core Laboratories •aer.o
received at the San Luis Mine on May 2U, 1993. The Cr~:3:s-
reference table between sample identification ni)mbnrt, anr:i
sample locations is attached. As sper.ificd in TR-006,
calculated free and wad cyanide values for thr, process point
samples are enclosed.
No deviations from the sampling QA/QC protocol„ TR-OOC,
wore noted for any of the samples collected. Hocoever, it
should be noted that approximately six inches of ice was
chipped from the surface of the RS-6 sampling location
bP.tOT,'e f.lowinq water was reached. The sediments in the
stream bed were disturbed during ice removal. The strcal7
bed was given time (approximately 30 minutes) to settle,
and t}\e flowing water :aas allowed to :•isihLy clear. Five
procns~ points, RS-S, and wells M-9, h1-12, •snci M-11 were
sampled. Wells M-2, M-6, M-7, and M-A and the three
lysimeter pairs were checked and found to be dry. A bar.r.rl
filter rinse blank, a field blank, a lower p<~nd ciuplicatn,
and a duplicate at M-'13 were taken as field c.Iua.li.ty rnnt.z•oL
samples.
'f he Core Lab analysis for weak acid cii.tisnriable (wad)
cyanide, alkalinity, bicarbonate, carbonate, total dissr)L•:r~rl
solids, total suspended solids, total organic carbon, ;:~nri
chloride for all samples was performed after the EPA
recommended holding time was exceeded. A narrative from
Core Labs discussing these samples is attached.
This lettet also serves as a follow-up to our t_elephf~n4=
conversation of May 24, 1993.
