Loehhead
E~rcmme Dueaur
ntichael B Long
Orvision Diream
The Division has completed review of the 1996 and 1997 Reclamation Reports for the New Elk
Mine. Our comments are as follows.
1996 Annual Reclamation Report
1. The report was in compliance with Rule 2.04.13(]).
1997 Annual Reclamation Report
2. The report indicates that several small disturbance areas, and ancillary facilities (West
portal) have been previously reclaimed. However, the report fails to define these locations,
acreage, and dates of planting for these areas as required by Rule 2.04.13(1). Please include
this information in the report and in all future reports.
3. A Reclamation Report Map is required for each year indicating locations, year of seeding,
etc. This map should be a cumulative representation of all reclamation completed at a given
site.
Ifyou have any questions, please call me.
Sinc~ely
~ ~~,
Environmental Protection Specialist
;,
Kent Gorham
