RECEgaED
2000-2001 Annual Report SEP 2 111101
Canyon Dolomite Quarry Division of Minerals and Geology
M-1977-376
Castle Concrete Company
Anniversary Date: September 22, 2001
Overview of Permit Year: In March 2001 Castle Concrete purchased the Canyon
Dolomite Quarry. Canyon Quarry Company previously owned this quarry. The original
owner and operator was CF&I Steel Corporation.
Annual Report Map: The Annual Report Map being supplied is dated 1988. This is the
most recent map available. No land has been disturbed since the purchase of the property.
The map accurately depicts the site.
Activity: Castle Concrete hopes to sell some product in the fall of 2001.
Reclamation: Although some reclamation was done by the previous operator, Castle
Concrete has cleaned up the site extensively. Castle has removed asphalt shingles, old
equipment, a large amount of trash and a large oil tank. This site has improved greatly and is
in much better shape than what the previous operators left it in.
Expected Activity: Currently no mining is taking place, however this may change
depending on the market.
