I first
examined the various chemical parameters of both groundwater and surface water
sites. The only surface water parameter to be consistently exceeded was total
Iron. This parameter was exceeded in 82% of the surface water sites, in other
words, all but two sites. Other parameters exceeded were Manganese, and in
one case only, Aluminum. The frequency of such monitoring appears correct
except in some cases when there was no sampling from 1983 to 1986. This
occurred at Springs S-1, 5-23, 5-41, S-5, 5-45, and S-7.
Concerning groundwater, the only parameters exceeded were Iron (exceeded
once), Manganese (exceeded twice), and Dissolved Solids (exceeded once). The
frequency of such monitoring appears correct, generally water levels taken
monthly, and water quality taken bi-annually.
/ern
5342E
