t
f
i
i
1990, but was reestablished in 1999 m
n
ng a
since it is downstream o
the Seneca II-W South area. Its EC plot indicates a decreasing trend.
The hydrology monitoring program at the Seneca II-W Mine requires a
spoil spring survey every year after the spring snowpack runoff. Spoil
Spring 1 (WSSPGI, not to be confused with WSPG1), was discovered in 1998
above the NPDES 005 pond (D pit area). It exists approximately 800 feet
southeast of Well GW-52W-19W. This year, low flow was observed in June ..
and no flow in September. This is a temporary site that was regraded in
the winter of 2001/02.
Spoil Spring 2 (WSSPG2) was discovered in June 1999. It is located in
the main stream channel adjacent to Spring S-6.
Spoil Spring 3 (WSSPG3) was discovered in September 1999. It is located
immediately to the east of Pond 006.
• Comparison of Surface Water Quality to Water Use Standards. SCC has
compiled a list of surface water standards for agricultural uses (Table
9). This list is composed of CDOH surface water agricultural' use
standards (CDOH, Reg. 31, March 1999).
Table 10 provides a comparison of surface water quality to agricultural
standards. This Paradox database generated table does not include the
units of concentration (mg/1 or ug/1) for each parameter. The units
used for each parameter are the same as those listed on the standards
table (Table 9) and are also the same as those used in the water quality
reports. The frequency column on Table 10 indicates the number of
exceedences out of the total number of samples (i.e., 1/2 indicates one
exceedence out of two samples), Below is a summary of standards that
were exceeded. Given in parenthesis is the source and use of each
standard. Although the CDOH does not indicate between livestock and
irrigation uses in their surface water agricultural standards, they have
done so in their similar ground water agricultural standards (see Table
• 5). For the sake of discussion, SCC chooses to use those ground water
use standards classifications (livestock or irrigation) for surface
19
