ANNUAL REPORT
Operator: United Companies of Mesa County
Location: Norwood Pit
File Number: M-1988-037
Anniversary Date: May 25, 2007
The pit was active this past year. Crushing took place only once during the report period.
United set up a portable asphalt plant in the pit last summer for a nearby CDOT paving
project. The pit sketch hasen't changed much due the mining and crushing of mid and
lower level bench areas. A bit of topsoil was moved to the south slope.
The pit continues to serve mainly for United Companies use but does have some retail
sales during the year. Pit serves as a source of rock and sand for the Telluride Gravel
Redi-mix plant as well.
The south wall received a bit more material to continue the sloping of the mined out area.
Weed management by San Miguel County Weed Control continues to monitor the pit and
has been good to 1•iave as the weeds are few.
Sincerely,

Brent W. Kerr
Resource Manager
