=: <br />:~ <br />ANNUAL REPORT <br />Operator: United Companies of Mesa County, Inc. <br />Operation: Hagie Gravel Pit <br />File Number: M-1991-136 <br />Anniversary Date: February 25, 2002 <br />RECEIVED <br />FEB 152002 <br />Division of Minerals and Geology <br />The Hagie Gravel Pit was active during the report year. Gravel was processed and <br />stockpiled at the site. Asphalt and ready mixed concrete were manufactured at the site. <br />United Companies main office and maintenance shop are in operation and active through <br />the year. <br />The amendment mentioned in last year's Annual Report, to modify the reclamation plan <br />for this site, has been completed and approved by the CDMG. The Reclamation Bond <br />amount has been changed to reflect changes that were approved in the new Reclamation <br />Plan for the site. <br />Grading of pit slope was done at the east and north sides of the pit. A program of <br />chemical herbicide applications was done during the past year. Curtail brand herbicede <br />was applied during the Spring and Fall in an attempt to control the noxious weed, Russian <br />Knapweed at this site. Other weeds were also treated with Roundup brand herbicide. <br />
