~ BACICH ENGINEERING
{
CONSTRUCTION
J. H. BACICH P.E SURVEYING R INSPECTION
801 CHESTNUT ST. Phooe(7r1846-6171
tw~w
TRINIDAD, COLORADO 81082
QUARTERLY INSPECTION REPORT
SEDEMENT POND
DATE OF INSPECTION: March 22, 1994
POND IDENTIFICATION: Sedement Pond
POND LOCATION: Sec. 36, T33S, R64W, 6th PM
Las Animas County, Colorado
III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
999
COMMENTS: This pond has been under construction during the past
quarter and construction is complete as of this inspection. The
purpose was to enlarge the pond to a larger capacity.
Drawing of pond design revision has been submitted previously
as a permit renewal, drawing no. exhibit N, showing the plan of
construction.
The slopes of the pond are approximately on a 2:1 ratio on the
embankment and approximately the same on other slopes which are
mostly rocky cuts. As per inspection and review of construction
plans, work was completed reasonably close to plan. All slopes
were neatly shaped and compaction where ever needed was done.
No erosion has occurred since the completion of construction.
The emergency spillway was reinforced by 18 inch rock size
riprap. Placement of approximately 8 inches of well graded
gravel as a filter blanket on the emergency spillway. The spill-
way riser was lowered approximately 3.5 to 9.0 feet and the trash
rack was reinstalled.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Continue to inspect the pond quarterly for any
possible erosion. Reclamation of this pond is not required, due
to request of landowner to retain as permanent stock pond.
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS STATEMENT: I, John H. Bacich state that
this report was prepared and presented hereon is true and correct
to the best of my knowled~e and information.
o ~~ 0 C
March 23, 1994 ~\O~'i~HENflyB•~F9:~ ,,~
Date ca.'~` 98~ "~_ ~~ ~ hn H.
