However, correct me if I'm wrong,
but there seems also to be portions of these data missing; especially in the
years 1482-1984. Certain heavy metals and potentially regulated chemicals may
be missing for various reporting periods.
I reviewed a letter dated April 6, 1984 sent by MLRD to Storm King that stated
the ground water baseline monitoring program was inadequate at that time, but
I believe it meant that was because a full year of testing hadn't been done.
I haven't been able to find a letter or commentary record stating why there
are so many data points missing in the 1982-84 years. Finally, the following
list of items relates to possible problems with the AHR reporting accuracy or
possible natural effects.
1. Well OW-4L in 1984-1985: water seems to be very hard and high in
sulfates;
2. Well OW-4L 1983-1984: water is very hard, high in sulfates, and
contains trace metals which may exceed various regulatory parameter
standards. These metals are:
arsenic, cadmium, iron, manganese, molybdenum;
3. hell OW-4L may also have detection limits (minimum detection
limits) set too high for some parameters such as molybdenum,
arsenic, mercury, cadmium, etc. This may be true For some other
wells as well;
4. IJell OW-8 shows moderately fair to good water quality. However,
this WQ seems to get poorer (especially TDS, S04) when approaching
late in 1985 season (August, September);
5. Well OW-11 seems to be affected by river stage; consequently, is
probably affected by downward leaching and upward remobilization of
salts (NaCI), and may indicate an area of poor irrigation potential;
6. We11 OW-11 baseline shows high iron, manganese, molybdenum,
arsenic, and cadmium at various sampling periods;
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
