Daniel M. Russell
Oak Creek Gravel Pit
9042 South 106 Road
Alamosa, Colorado 81101
719-589-3004 ext. 110
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
303-866-3567
December 30, 2006
RE: Annual report, Oak Creek Gravel Pit, M-1989-084.
Deaz Sirs:
JAN 10 2001
Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
The attached map shows the condition of the pit. No significant mining occurred
during the past year. Gravel from the stockpiles was removed and the pit site
was significantly cleaned up. The planned retention pond in the southeast corner
of the pit was created this yeaz to comply with the permit provisions. We
anticipate excavating appmximately 0.5 to 1.0 acres during 2007 along with
associated crushing and stockpiling of material. We also anticipate applying for
a revision of the pit boundaries from the current 25.56 acres to 36.04 acres to
bring the pennit boundary into agreement with the ownership lines and with the
limits of the Conditional Use Permit granted by Freemont County as per CUP
06-002 (Rockbottom Gravel Pit). Duting the application process, we will
earefiitly review all aspects of the existing permit (as per the Freemont County
original application and permit) and if problems are noted, address them.
S' erely,
ml-
Daniel M.
