M -1979 -221
Class: Report
Doc Type: Sedalia Recycling center a
Transportation Depository
Highway 85, fronting the proposed facility, is a major two lane artery between Denver and Colorado
Springs. Traffic is very heavy during rush hour periods and moderate during the day. Access to the
highway is on an improved road with high visibility. During heavy traffic volumes ingress and egress
would be difficult due to the large numbers of vehicles using the highway. Lighter traffic would make
access to and from the highway more manageable.
The access road to the proposed site as well as Highway 85 are all rated to handle truck traffic associ-
ated with the proposed operation. Both roads currently handle heavy trucks and loads and will accom-
modate the project zone sufficiently.
The proposed facility will cause only minimal increases in traffic which are related to day -to -day
operations and periodic deliveries. The road will be improved by blading and gravel. These measures
will safely accommodate additional traffic and emergency vehicles.
Photograph of aca cN, total to facility.
Human population
No people will be displaced or relocated because of the proposed facility. Current land use of the
proposed location does not include any residences. Day to day operations of a recycling and deposi-
tory center will likely cause some negative responses from neighboring residential and ranching facili-
ties.
A 30 day public comment period and a legal notice of a public hearing required by the State of Colo-
rado Public Health and Environment Department will be followed in order to address public questions,
comments or concerns.
Construction
Construction information pertaining to the day to day operation and engineering of the Sedalia Project
is available from the design consultant, Petotec International Corporation.
1 111111 11111 11111 11111 IIIII IIII IIII
22385
