Each is mined by a different operator using
this single permit. This pit HAS NOT been granted a Temporary
Cessation and it HAS operated more than 180 days this year. The
approved bond amount is $27,000 covering 75.74 acres ±, and the
facility has seven mining and reclamation phases. However, the
current bond amount in the Divisions possession is $40,000 and we
are working on an interim reclamation plan that will increase the
bond. Please refer to the Annual Report Map attached for the
areas discussed in this text.
We will deal specifically with the Annual Report require-
ments as outlined in Rule 1.15 of the Rules and Regulations and
those noted in the annual letter.
(1) Clay - No new area was disturbed by the clay mining opera-
tion this year. We continued to mine deeper on the land
previously disturbed (blue) north of the ditches and ex-
panded the face approximately 100 feet into Stage II.
Approximately 23.03 acres is disturbed by the clay operation
in Stages O, I and II. This included the old clay mined
area south of the ditches, the Clay Plant Site (purple) and
the storage area (tan). Waste material created by the clay
operation was stockpiled along the west side in the overbur-
den stockpile. This material will be used later to create
the slopes into the bottom of the clay mine or. The waste
sandstone will be salvaged for the minerals owners use.
