Sokol Pit
The permitted acreage is 41.37 acres. This site is intermittently active and
operates less than 180 days per year. The current permit has no phased
reclamation plan. Reclamation to the site is done as materials are removed. The
total acreage affected this year is about 2. Approximately 23,000 c.y. of material
was removed from the site. The total acreage reclaimed this year 0 acres. The
topsoil is in good condition and is placed in berms exterior to the cut areas; they
are established with good growth vegetation.
For this next permit year, we are expecting to affect another 2 acres. The cut
face will be to the east slope.
