Semi-Annual Subsidence Report Page 4
Southfield Mine
March 14, 1995
^ Thompson Ranch Buildings
^ Refuse Disposal Area
^ Powerlines and Substations
^ Florence Waterline
1. It appears that not all of the inventoried
structures are being ,monitored and not included in
the subsidence report. Why has EFCI not included
all the above structures in the monitoring plan?
V. Recommendations for future reports
1. EFCI should include a mine map with the report to show
where mining has occurred since the last report and where
mining is anticipated during the next report period. The
map should also include the structures inventoried and
the monitoring network. The map should also show
previously mined out areas.
2. EFCI should include in subsequent reports, the methods
used to obtain the subsidence data.
3. Conduct visual inspections for evidence of surface
cracking. Provide a summary of the inspections in the
subsidence report.
The Division requests your assistance in determining the due date
for EFCI's semi-annual subsidence report. These dates are not
clear in the Division's files.
EFCI should respond to the Division's adequacy letter by April 21,
1995.
