- ; iii iiiiiiiiiiii iii
~:
GREELEY WEST PIT
Annual Monitoring Report
~ September, 1978
•~-~~
This is the first annual monitoring report for the Greeley
West Pit operated by Flatiron Paving Company, P.O. Box 229,
Boulder, Colorado. It covers the period September 2, 1977 to
August 31, 1978. The permit for this mine was approved Septem-
ber 2, 1977.
During the past year Flatiron has begun the reclamation
work in Area A. To meet highway specification requirements
mining has proceeded in Area B and the northwestern end of Area
C. The expectation that mining in Area A would be completed during
this year has been almost fulfilled. About 2.5 acres remain
to be mined. This will be accomplished during the next year and
reclamation in the form of shaping banks will proceed. Mining
and reclamation are proceeding well at the Greeley West Pit.
The following questions and answers provide detail on activ-
ity at Greeley West Pit. The attached map shows areas affected.
1. What are the locations and number of acres affected this
year?
Approximately 12 acres of the western portion
of Area B has been stripped of overburden and
is being mined. Overburden is also being re-
moved from 5 acres in the northwest portion
of Area C. All of Area A except 2.5 acres has
been mined. RECEIVED
~35a _ OCT 18 1978
RECLAMA`PION SECTION
Colo. Dept, of Natural Resources
