OF MINERALS <br />RE: Response to Comments on 1996 aed 1997 Annual Hydrology Reports <br />New Elk Mine (Permit C-81-012) <br />Dear Mr. Gorham: <br />By this letter, Picketwire Processing, LLC hereby submits responses to your comment letter dated <br />August 27, 1998 for the 1996 and 1997 Annual Hydrology Reports for the New Elk Mine. <br />Responses are organized in the same order as presented in your letter. <br />]996 Annual Hydrology Report <br />1. Basin Resotuces has sold the New Elk Mine to Picketwire Processing, LLC. By this action, <br />Basin has no further interest in the Mine or the monitoring program. <br />2. A table has been prepared and attached with the elevations of all well measuring points. This <br />table will be included in all future AHRs. <br />1997 Annual Hydrology Report <br />1. Pond 008 did not discharge during 1997. A water sample was taken from the pool in the pond <br />to determine the quality of water coming from the RDA drainage. <br />2. A table has been prepared and attached with the elevations of all well meastuing points.
