INSTALLATION OF ASH lfONITORINC WF,LL, AH41-2 <br />1 <br />As required by the stipulations set forth in the Ash Disposal <br />permit document, an ash disposal monitoring well (ANW-2) was <br />installed September 24-25, 1987. <br />The specific design criteria for this well is given below: <br />BORE HOLE <br />a) Borehole Diameter 7-5/8" <br />b) Borehole depth 44' <br />CASING STRING <br />a) Perforated casing - 32/1000" slot, 4-1/2" ID, 39'0" to 44'0" <br />f b) Blank casing - 4-1/2" ID, 0'0" to 39'0" <br />COifPLETION <br />a) Gravel pack ~kb to 430 size 35'0" to 44.0" <br />b) Cement grout, neat cement, Portland 0'0" to 35'0" <br />c) Centralizers, steel 1 at 39` and 15' <br />The monitoring well was constructed using conventional rotary <br />drilling techniques. The borehole was drilled with a 7-S/8" soft <br />formation tri-cone bit to a total depth of 44 feet below ground <br />• surface. The circulating fluid used to remove cuttings from the <br />borehole was a surfactant Foam type. <br />After reaching the desired depth of 44 feet, the borehole was <br />thoroughly cleaned of cuttings. The casing was then run into the <br />borehole Following the schedule shown above. Gravel pack material <br />was then measured and placed in the annular space and allowed to <br />settle. <br />When the desired amount of gravel pack was placed in the annular <br />space, a cement slurry was prepared, measured and placed in the <br />annulus of the well and finished to ground level. During the <br />placement of both the gravel pack and grout materials, the casing <br />was tapped to help eliminate air pockets and promote settling. <br />At the conclusion of installation of AHW-2, static water levels <br />were not measurable due to dry hole conditions. At the time of <br />this report, no recovery of water levels had been measured. <br /> <br />Page B <br />
