This mix has
been ordered from Granite Seed for a number of years. Since 2000, seed has only been
ordered twice: in 2003 and again in 2005 for 2006 reclamation. Apparently when I faxed in
the order in 2003, the last four species on the seed list got truncated either in transmission or
when Granite Seed entered the mix into their computer. The order in 2006 was filled directly
from their computer file.
To correct this omission, New Elk Coal Company will inter-seed those areas of reclamation
planted with the deficient seed-mix this the fall. These areas will be seeded with the following
mix at twice the quantity of pure live seed as called for in the permit as these areas will be
hand seeded and the seed raked in where possible:
Mountain Muhly 0.661bs-PLS/Acre
Buffalo Grass 1.00 lbs-PLS/Acre
Rubber Rabbit Brush 0.301bs-PLS/Acre
Wood Rose 0.50 ]bs-PLS/Acre
This seeding will be documented in the 2007 annual reclamation Report. Please contact me if
you have any questions.
Sincerely
/~/ Ott
Ronald Thompson
Agent
