Long
Dnisinn Director
Subject: 2000 Annual Reclamation Report Permit No. C-81-025
Reference: Your letter of February 15, 2001, Re: Annual Reclamation Report Permit No. C-
81-025
Dear Mr. Stover:
Thank you for the subject report. A copy of my review of the report is attached. You are commended
for your recapitulation of disturbed and reclaimed areas. Your expanded description of reclamation
acreage should be most helpful in the future administration of the permit.
Please reFine four items of the report. 1) The recapitulation (table) did not identify the acreage of
disturbance associated with the flumes (four) on Middle and North Thompson Creeks. Please submit
a revised recapitulation (table) that I eludes these areas of disturbance, and the Phase I reclamation
and date(1986, PAP, page 3-86). 2~The disturbed areas depicted on the map of the report do not
identify the Stony Ridge Fan Shaft Road, or the spur road to the New Fan Shaft Site, as disturbed
areas (not circumscribed as perr~tanent in red line). Please revise the map to depict these areas as
(permanent) disturbed areas. 3) The Refuse Sedimentation Pond is mislabeled as P-9 on the map.
Please re-label this sedimentation pond as the Refuse Pond. 4) Pond 9 is entered twice in the
recapitulation table. Please delete it from the Permanent category (as not part of the No. l Mine
Water Treatment) or relocate the double asterisk (**) to the "Includes Pond 9" entry if your intent
is to reclaim Pond 9 and to keep the area of the pond in the area of Developed Water Resource land
use. Other than these minor corrections, the Division of Minerals and Geology has no questions or
requests concerning the report. Please submit your corrections with 60 days of the date of this letter.
Please call me if you have any questions or comments.
Yours truly,
Byron G.
