I •. .` <br />PERAIIT APPLICATION <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />REGULAR {112) OPERATION <br />EXHIBIT D <br />MINING PLAN <br /> <br />:~ANDCO, INC. proposes a sand and gravel surface mining <br />operation within the confines of the existing Animas River <br />~~hannel as shown in Exhibit "C". The vertical extent of <br />the sand and gravel deposit in the river bottom is unknown, <br />but according to a report dated Januacy 23, 1981, by <br />Simons, Li 5 Associates of eort Collins, the Animas River <br />has been aggrading over a long period of time, and based on <br />local report, the depth of piling driven at the Trimble <br />Lane Bridge indicate the deposits at that location exceed <br />100 feet. The Animas Rivez annually deposits sand and <br />gravel sediment within the limits of this Application and <br />since 1982, Sandco, Inc. has annually extracted <br />approximately 50,000 tons of sediment under Limited Impact <br />Pet'mit numbers M-79-016 and ht- 80-130, both of which are <br />located urithin the boundaries of this Application.
