DELTA COUNTY
PIG MESA PIT
2003
ANNUAL REPORT
(Submitted 10/2003)
No. M-78-168
The attached map shows the area mined m 2003 and where mining is projected for 2004.
No reclamation is anticipated for 2004 as the newly mined area will provide additional room for
material stockpiles. The time of operations at Pig Mesa Pit in 2004 depends on the completion of
gravel crashing at the County's other pits. The county crusher would probably be moved to Pig
Mesa Pit late in 2000.
Pig Mesa Pit is one of several operated by Delta County and is mined as needed for county
projects or gravel reserves. Della County crushes and processes the gravel in each of its pits with a
portable crushing plant It is anticipated the portable crasher will not be moved back to the Pig Mesa Pit
in 2004, unless late in the year. If crushing occurs the gravel produced will be stockpiled. The is no
reclamation projected for 2004.
