• overlies the 1st East Mains developed in 1994. This location was measured three
~ times for water levels during 1994 and found to exhibit water levels within the
normal range previously established for this site. Well DH-600 is also located
in the East Roatcap drainage and is located at the end of panel H. This well
has a 1,040' long tube in it to measure depth to water. This location was
measured three tires for water level during 1994 and the water level was
apparently below the tube during all ~ronitoring events.
Hydrology monitoring was extended into the northern portion of the East Roatcap
Creek drainage during 1993 to accommodate newly acquired lease areas and revised
mine plans. Mining during 1994 was confined to the western thick coal pod.
Advance mining during 1994 was performed in the 1st East Mains and Panel X.
Panel Y was partially pillared and Panel Z was advanced mined and partially
pillared during the year. Hydrology monitoring conducted during 1994 did not
indicate mine related i~acts were occurring. The majority of monitored
locations exhibited characteristics and patterns similar to previously observed
data. water quality remains good overall and no physical i~acts have been
l._ noted at any of the nunitored locations which would suggest adverse effects
associated with mining operations at the Howie No. 1 Mine.
•
8
